Role Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and innovative support teacher to provide individualized academic and technological support to students in our fully digitalized basic school environment. The successful candidate will work with students who require additional learning support, utilizing Chromebooks and digital learning platforms to enhance educational outcomes and ensure every student can thrive in our technology-rich learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support with individualised and small group support to students with diverse learning needs
- Support students with learning difficulties, disabilities, or those requiring academic intervention
- Collaborate with the classroom teacher to modify and adapt curriculum content for individual student needs
- Support in teaching students how to navigate educational software, online learning platforms, and digital resources
- Support the classroom teacher with Classroom management
- Assist early childhood students (ages 3-6) with personal hygiene routines, including handwashing, toileting, and general cleanliness.
- Help students with eating routines during snack time and lunch, ensuring proper hygiene practices
- Assist with clothing adjustments, shoe tying, and general self-care skills development
- Monitor and support students during rest periods and quiet activities
- Provide classroom coverage and assume full teaching responsibilities when the homeroom teacher is absent
- Support with administering assessments to pupils
Minimum Required Qualifications
- National Diploma or N.C.E. degree in education or related field
- Training in assistive technology and digital learning platforms is preferred
- Minimum 3 years of teaching experience, preferably in support roles
- Experience working with students with diverse learning needs and abilities
- Demonstrated experience with educational technology and digital learning platforms
- Experience with Chromebooks, Google Workspace for Education, or similar platforms
- Experience with Google Workspace for Education (Classroom, Docs, Sheets, etc.)
- Familiarity with learning management systems and digital assessment tools
