Chief (Dr) Leemon Ikpea

Chairman Advisory Board

Chief (Dr) Leemon Ikpea is the founder/Chairman/CEO of Lee Engineering & Construction Company Limited. He has branch offices in Warri, Benin, and Portharcourt and a corporate headquarters in Lagos. Additionally, he operates in many countries, including Italy, the United Kingdom, and the United States. He has over 1,500 staff members. His company is a formidable player and leader in Nigeria’s oil and gas industry and has made tremendous contributions to the country’s economic development. In recognition of his accomplishments, Leemon Ikpea has been awarded the prestigious honors of the Order of the Niger (OON) and the Order of the Federal Republic (OFR). A number of national newspapers have awarded Chief Leemon Ikpea “Business Man of the Year” multiple times in their business sections, including Vanguard, The Sun, and others. He is a distinguished Philanthropist. Through his foundation, the Agbonjagwe Leemon Ikpea Foundation (ALIF), he awards scholarships and trains numerous students from diverse backgrounds and tribes in high schools and universities worldwide. Furthermore, his foundation provides potable water in rural communities in Edo State and the country at large, promotes youth employment through skills acquisition, and caters to the needs of rural women, particularly widows and the elderly. Chief Leemon Agbonjagwe Ikpea brings to Equity Learning Academy the ingredients of hard work, Integrity, honesty, and consistency, for which he is reputable and the keys to his success. He is the Chairman of the advisory board of ELA, and the school will benefit immensely from his unmatched experience.

Dr. Bernnell Peltier-Glaze

Vice Chairman Advisory Board

Dr. Bernnell Peltier-Glaze is a Professor in the Department of Educational Administration and Foundations and Interim Dean of the College of Education at Texas Southern University. Her responsibilities include teaching educational administration and leadership courses and supervising administrative interns. She also serves on several department committees. Dr. Peltier-Glaze has worked with families and children/students through the social services and education systems in Louisiana, Georgia, New York, and, most recently, Houston, Texas. In the K-12 system, she has served as a classroom teacher, mentor teacher, supervising teacher, administrative intern/assistant principal/administrator, principal, director, and trainer. She has been responsible for professional development for teachers and principals. She is a certified teacher and administrator and also does educational consulting. Dr. Peltier-Glaze was honored as an “invitee” at the David L. Clark National Graduate Student Research Seminar in Educational Administration and Policy held in San Diego, CA, in 2004, where she presented research from her dissertation, “Teachers’ Perceptions of the Role of the Principal Regarding Teacher Retention in an Urban School District.” She also presented research from her dissertation in a “Ticketed” session at the Association for Supervision and Curriculum (ASCD) Conference held in Orlando, Florida, in 2005. Additionally, she has presented at several local, state, and national conferences. Her publications include “The Role of the Principal in Teacher Retention ” in the Texas Study of Secondary Education. She is a member of the advisory board.
