Role Summary

We are seeking a visionary and experienced academy manager to oversee the comprehensive operations of our innovative tuition-free digital basic school. The successful candidate will lead a dynamic educational institution that leverages cutting-edge technology, including a comprehensive education management system, to deliver exceptional learning experiences while managing all operational aspects, including staff supervision, student welfare, transportation, nutrition, security, and facility management.

Key Responsibilities

Educational Leadership & Management

  • Provide strategic leadership and vision for the academy’s educational mission and objectives
  • Oversee curriculum implementation and ensure alignment with educational standards and digital learning best practices
  • Monitor and evaluate teaching effectiveness and student learning outcomes through the education management system
  • Lead professional development initiatives for all teaching staff and support personnel
  • Ensure compliance with all educational regulations, policies, and accreditation requirements
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies (Ministry of Education, Local Government Authority) on policy and compliance requirements
  • Develop and implement school improvement plans based on data analysis and performance metrics
  • Foster a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and digital literacy throughout the institution
  • Ensure effective utilisation of digital platforms for tracking teacher and student performance
  • Oversee digital report card publishing and parent communication systems
  • Coordinate with IT support to maintain all digital infrastructure and learning platforms
  • Ensure data security, privacy compliance, and appropriate use of educational technology

Staff Management & Human Resources

  • Supervise and evaluate all school personnel, including teachers, support teachers, librarian, admin/accountant, security personnel, school nurse, cook, and cleaning staff
  • Manage staff scheduling, assignments, and workload distribution
  • Handle disciplinary procedures and conflict resolution among staff members
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and maintain positive staff relations
  • Foster team collaboration and maintain high staff morale

Student Affairs & Welfare Management

  • Oversee student enrollment, registration, and record-keeping processes
  • Ensure the provision of free learning materials and resources to all students
  • Monitor student attendance, academic progress, and behavioural development
  • Coordinate with the school nurse to maintain student health and safety standards
  • Oversee the implementation of student support services and intervention programs
  • Manage student discipline policies and procedures
  • Nutrition and Food Services Management
  • Transportation and logistics coordination
  • Facility and Infrastructure Management

Administrative Oversight and Community Engagement

  • Manage procurement processes for educational materials, equipment, and supplies
  • Ensure cost-effective operations while maintaining quality standards
  • Oversee inventory management for learning materials and school resources
  • Prepare financial reports and administrative documentation for stakeholders
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the school and parents, community, and stakeholders
  • Manage external communications and public relations for the academy
  • Coordinate community engagement activities and partnerships
  • Handle media relations and promotional activities
  • Facilitate parent-teacher conferences and engagement activities
  • Maintain relationships with educational authorities and regulatory bodies

Qualifications and Skills

  • Master’s degree in Educational Administration, Educational Leadership, or related field
  • Additional certification in educational technology or digital learning is preferred
  • Training in school management and educational leadership
  • Minimum 5 years of educational leadership experience either as a school principal, assistant principal, or educational administrator
  • Previous experience as a school principal, assistant principal, or educational administrator
  • Demonstrated experience managing educational technology systems and digital learning platforms
  • Experience with comprehensive school operations, including transportation, nutrition, and facility management
  • Background in managing diverse staff teams and educational support services
  • Experience with budget management and fiscal responsibility in educational settings
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office tools and G Suite
  • Knowledge of data analytics and performance tracking systems.
